Participation charter

The rules that apply to the sources, follow-ups and replies sent by the public.

01Purpose

Controversia accepts contributions from the public to complete its profiles: sources, follow-ups to a case, right of reply. This charter sets the rules. Provisional text, under review.

02Validation

No contribution is published automatically. Each submission is read and checked by the editorial team, which may accept, edit, refuse or ignore it without having to give reasons. An accepted contribution is marked as coming from the public, with its date.

03What we expect

Verifiable facts, supported by identifiable public sources (press, court decisions, official documents).

A neutral tone: no insults, no hateful or discriminatory remarks, no threats.

04What we refuse

Unsourced accusations, rumours, private-life information unrelated to the controversy, third parties' personal data (address, phone…), advertising and automated submissions.

05Presumption of innocence

Being accused is not being convicted. Contributions must respect the presumption of innocence and clearly distinguish accusation, proceedings and decision.

06Personal data

The optional e-mail address is only used to reply to you; it is never published. No IP address is kept. To exercise your rights, use the « Legal requests » form.

07Abuse

If a profile receives an unusual number of contributions, its forms may be suspended temporarily.
