Après la mise en évidence publique de plusieurs passages de sa thèse de 2015 ressemblant fortement ou mot pour mot à des publications antérieures sans attribution suffisamment claire, une plainte pour possible manquement à l’éthique académique est transmise à l’ISM University. Le 31 juillet, l’université annonce que sa commission d’éthique ouvre une enquête formelle. Au 19 septembre, aucune conclusion finale de cette enquête n’a été identifiée.
